Sunday was a lovely 2 hours at Kaiser urgent care, just to find out my sinusitis is now an impaction and got steriods and new steriod nasal spray and if nothing happens in 10 days, then I might have to have minor surgery - great! At least the pneumonia is getting much better and got new pills to help knock it out faster - 4 weeks has been enough time for all this fun :P

Today my dryer broke, can't fix it except to see what we could jury rig - nice having male roomates sometimes.

Got my schedule hosed - in 2 weeks will work 2pm and home by 1030pm Tues through Sat, so there goes my life, just as well I don't have one to begin with.

Over 3 weeks now and still like absolute garbage fighting this 'walking pneumonia' and toss in a killer sinus infection to add to the fun. One good thing about not being able to smell or taste anything except 25% worth is I'm losing weight :P but even my butt cheeks ache from all the coughing. Should have stayed home more than 6 days but ran out of sick days so off to work I go.

Two different sets of medication and still don't feel any better. Just how much yellow jello can come out of my nose and still not get this damned sinus infection to go away? Tired of dragging my sorry ass around coughing every 3 minutes...want to rip my face off from all the damned sinus pressure built up and feels like someone broke my cheekbones... GRRRRRRR

but then I think of other friends going through much worse than this and then I feel stupid for griping about pneumonia!

Look after yourself - I know when I had pneumonia I went back to work too soon, and was very unwell. Got it again, altogether three times in four months DD ! I won't do that again, so do listen to advise, rest and take it easy! xxx Hugs

Hey, there is definately no need to feel stupid for ANYTHING. Yes, there probably are people going through worse than this, BUT this is still a very serious thing you're going through girly!

I know you have to be back at work, but please, please try your best to stay on the healthy side of work and rest yourself up completely when you do get home.

Finalizing the wonderful world of possums in your home

16:54 May 06 2008

Contacted a private animal trapping/relocating company to help out and at least getting reimbursed from home owner helps!

So far we had a teenager, 5 babies and 2 adults that I could see running a muck. Nothing like been startled working at computer in bedroom and having a baby possum run up and over your foot to say howdy.

The two spots they were coming in were sealed up, these old houses (1930) have unique wall heaters and that was one way, liquid nails took care of that problem and have an old fashioned claw tube so there are pipes going down into floor and there is just enough space around for the babies to have climbed up. Imagine finding possum poop in your bathroom and going in there to use the toilet and having one stare at you....makes it interesting!

They could not get under the house so have traps, and after 3 days only caught one adult possum who wasn't happy at all, but got released at a sanctuary... oh yeah and caught a neighbor's cat too who was very embarrassed at being caught! Let's see what else we can catch, but at least the house is back to humanoids only!

Update to my morning visitor journal entry

15:04 May 01 2008
Times Read: 767

That night, got a migraine and went to bed early, only to be awakened after midnight by a roomie yelling I FOUND THE POSSUM in our bathroom! Damned baby possum been in the house all damned day! So door was shut to deal with it in the morning, my head hurt and vision was blurry and the male roommate was running back to his bedroom (sheesh)

First thing yesterday morning open bathroom to check on it and it was gone - poof, no where to be seen! This is a 1930 California style bungalow home the roommates and I rent and there's an old fashioned claw tub/shower and thought it might have climbed down the pipe - because not in the cabinets or anywhere!

I had to leave for work and last night business as usual with being online and watching TV and went to bed around midnight...

4:45 am (yawn) this morning I hear noises and popped up and flipped on light - never make noises to irritate an ex cop during the night - and my poor cat was sitting in the doorway to my room looking underneath this very computer table I'm sitting at now and I pull back the chair to see that damned possum looking up at me before running back to my closet.

I grabbed a blankie and went to living room and laid down on the sofa with my cat to try and catch some more sleep....only to have possum come into the living room and make more noises behind the fish tank and then I finally found it behind the TV.. (yawn)

So I left the cat in the living room to keep an eye on it and I came back to bed and got at least another 30 minutes of sleep before the neighbors woke me up and here I am.

Possum now under the loveseat in living room with my cat staring at the sofa.. cannot call animal control until 8am.

Never figured I would have a possum for a stalker - see the luck I have?

A funny morning visitor on Monday, April 29th

06:43 May 01 2008
Times Read: 759

Woke up this morning to some funny sounds next to me and wondered what was my cat, Pumpkin up to now? I sit up and looked to my left at the bedside antique dresser not to see my cat there, but a baby possum staring at me, just wiggling its nose just a few inches from my own nose.

Now, it's been awhile since I woke to another warm fuzzy being in bed with me, but for some reason, a possum just wasn't one I thought would!

My cat was sitting on the other dresser staring at the possum then to me and back to the possum and the possum - who's just a baby about the size of an adult pet rat - got nervous when I stood up, slipped off the dresser and jumped under my bed.

After calling animal control and waiting 3 hours with the poor thing closed in my bedroom, the guy could NOT find it! He said it's probably up inside your bed until nightfall... great.

I'm off to the Happiest Place on Earth to work until 8:30 tonight and leaving my roommate to watch for a wayward baby possum and a wigged out cat running all around the house looking for it..

Got home at 8:30 pm and put the poor bedroom back together after the roomie tore it up trying to find the possum, then a bit of online time, got a migraine and then went to bed... only to be awakened after midnight by roomie yelling found the possum! It was in the bathroom. Mind you, this 1930 house has 3 roommates/3 bedrooms and only 1 bathroom - and it's inhabited by a baby possum - or a teenager possum the animal control people called it.

Of course this morning open the bathroom door to find its gone... and we think through the bottom of the claw tub down the pipes, or climbing down the outside of the pipes
